For years, I've brought my daugther's 1969 Camaro to local car shows creating a space where kids of all ages can sit behind the wheel and take pictures for free. It’s become a tradition that brings smiles and excitement to the community letting children experience the magic of a classic car up close.
Whether I'm at a car show or hanging out with friends at Bob's Big
Boy. You will find me asking kids and their parents if they would like
a picture of them sitting behind the wheel.
Before they climb in, I give them two simple rules
Rule #1: "Put both hands on the steering wheel and look like you're
driving it!"
Rule #2: When you hear "Thumbs up," give me your biggest smile and a
thumbs up!
Unfortunately, my Camaro is now in need of major repairs that I can’t afford on my own. The motor and rear end are over 20 years old and need to be fixed or replacment so the car can safely make it to events. Without these repairs, I won’t be able to continue sharing this experience with the kids who look forward to it.
